Lesson 23
Baked Beans & Cowboy lunch
Very easy lesson today! Eat peanut butter bagel with honey and cowboy lunch!
Peanut Butter Bagel with Honey
Cut the bagel in the middle with a knife. Put it in the toaster until its toasted nicely. Then put peanut butter on it and a little bit of honey.
A very healthy breakfast!
- Nutritional Benefits: Peanut butter with honey provides a combination of healthy fats, protein, vitamins, and minerals. The honey adds additional nutrients like antioxidants, enzymes, and vitamins, making it a more nutritious option compared to regular peanut butter
- Energy Boost: The combination of peanut butter and honey creates a powerful energy source. The carbohydrates in honey provide quick energy, while the protein and healthy fats in peanut butter offer sustained energy. This makes it an excellent snack for pre or post-workout, or as a natural energy booster throughout the day
- Antioxidant Properties: Both peanut butter and honey contain antioxidants. The vitamin E in peanut butter and various compounds in honey work together to provide an antioxidant effect in the body. These antioxidants help protect cells from damage and may aid in preventing diseases
Cowboy Lunch
This is a classical cowboy meal and also popular in the UK. Simply warm up the baked beans and add Chipotle sauce to make it spicy. Easy!
- High in Fiber: Baked beans are an excellent source of dietary fiber, providing about 5-6 grams per 1/2 cup serving. This fiber content promotes digestive health, supports regular bowel movements, and helps maintain a healthy gut microbiome. The high fiber content also contributes to feeling fuller, which can aid in weight management.
- Rich in Plant-Based Protein: Baked beans offer a good amount of plant-based protein, with about 6 grams per 1/2 cup serving. This makes them an excellent protein source for vegetarians and vegans. When combined with whole grains, they can provide a complete protein comparable to meat or dairy foods.
- Source of Essential Nutrients: Baked beans contain various essential vitamins and minerals. They are particularly rich in iron, which is important for energy production and healthy red blood cells. They also provide significant amounts of magnesium, zinc, copper, and selenium, which act as antioxidants and support various bodily functions including immune health and thyroid function.
